Club House Restoration
The club house restoration principle is to stay on its current layout, bring everything up to the city building codes, and a bit upgrade to match our new pool and spa . In addition, the project emphasizes the complete waterproof of the upper deck, cross ventilation, brighten and enlarge the inside room, and pre-wired for future possibilities - solar and cable.

What is the purpose of the Club House?
This 'building' is 30 years old. We should establish the current needs before we embark on any restoration. Then we should establish a budget and inform the homeowners.
I second the question: What is the purpose of the Club House?
Currently, it's a dark, windowless room that's home to spiders and mold, with a couple of bathrooms and an emergency phone. It's a waste of space.
Adding a few windows, better ventilation, and exercise machines might help the value of the complex a bit. Of course, any remodel of the space opens a Pandora's box with stuff like CAVE people (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAVE_People ), ADA regulations, etc.
When I think of a Club House, this
structure does not seem to meet that term in any way. Does the current use of this structure cause any potential safety/health issues for us or our visitors?
A structure without windows I would
call a storage room for maintenance purposes. How much money could currently be saved in routine cleaning, and planned expensive remodeling costs if the purpose of this structure would be changed to a Storage Room? Could we save $100,000?
Things you should know about the Board of Directors candidates:
1.) The tropical Birds of Paradise plants need trimming. Unfortunately, somebody has been sabotaging the association's certified arborist by painting over his red trim-marks with green paint. This confuses the tree-trimmers and costs the association for work-not-performed. The identity of the monkey-wrencher is a well known secret.
When Jason Teutsch attends board meetings, he talks and talks about saving-the-trees like a broken record. He's even disrupted meetings of the landscape committee by following them around with a video camera saying he's filming a "documentary." Jason has a PhD in math and is very eccentric.
Larry Asakawa is running with Jason, and shares Jason's views.
2.) Christ Milesis is currently on the board, and has been abusive and unprofessional toward residents. He brings a hammer and air-horn to the meeting, and he pounds the hammer and blows the horn like a judge on the Gong Show when he's tired of listening. He was voted off the board before and should be voted off again.
Things you should know about Donald Segretti:
1) There is no one who owns property at Villas Mallorca named "Donald Segretti." Nor is there anyone by that name who attends the HOA board meetings.
Things Donald Segretti should know:
2) The "certified arborist" did not put any marks on our trees.
3) Neither the orange nor the green spots are relevant to this year's tree removals. I invite everyone to view the 16 green-spotted trees outside 8666 which would already have been removed had our neighbors not spoken up.
4) I do not own a video camera.
One other thing you should know about Donald Segretti: he ran a smear campaign on behalf of Richard Nixon prior to the 1974 US presidential elections.
